No I thought that’s what came with the camera. I have 30 days free nest aware but I need to test out the 24/7 recording option to see if it captures the issue I am needing to record. Can you sign up for nest aware plus and pay monthly in case I need to return the camera I don’t want to pay for a whole year in advance if I don’t end up keeping the camera.
I think the Nest Aware trial is just the regular Nest Aware, not the plus. I'm not sure on the options for Nest Aware in terms of payment. I presume it is available monthly.
EDIT: Confirmed, it does have a monthly option. See bottom of the page:
I purchased the Nest Aware Plus for the outdoor floodlight camera and while it records 24/7 and I can hear the barking dogs I need to be able to clip the recording. Because you can’t see the dogs they don’t trip the event recording so I cannot clip any part of the video recording. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with representatives trying to figure out which of your products work best for what I am trying to accomplish and it appears you have nothing. I need to record barking dogs and save the video and your products do not meet that need. Apparently your IQ outdoor camera had an option to be notified and record barking dogs, you do not have that anymore. This has been a very frustrating and expensive process. Yesterday I was put on hold for 45 minutes and the rep never got back to me so I hung up and never got a call back even though he asked for my number in case we get disconnected.
Unfortunately, no. Because Google Nest Camera (Battery) works only in the Google Home app, there is currently no way to download anything except event clips, even with 24/7 recording with Nest Aware Plus.
On Google's https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Message-from-our-GM-Updates-for-our-Nest-customers/ba-p/... blog post, another customer posted a link last week to a Starling product that lets you download video from the new Google Nest cameras to iCloud and then download manually selected clips from there, but you have to buy the $99 Starling Home Hub and add another layer of software: https://www.starlinghome.io/post/ditch-the-google-home-app.
I continue to be astonished that, six months after purchasing our camera, we are still waiting for Google Nest to provide the new cameras with some of the same functionality as our older cameras, like the sound notifications that @Adj is looking for, or manually edited clips, scheduling, and the Enhance (zoom) function.
I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. Do you still need help with this issue? I know that there's been a delay in response since you posted.
It looks like we haven't heard back from the OP so I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to create a new thread.
Have a great day,
Same issues over here. Purchased Nest Cam with floodlight (wired) and installed to find out that it does not record any sound events or 24/7, like our Nest Doorbell (wired) or our Google Home Hub. It also does not connect to our Nest account, only notifications and viewing from Google home app, not Nest app so I am managing two separate apps for camera footage! Now if I understand this thread correctly... I must purchase the Nest Aware Plus subscription (which is double $ what I pay now for regular subscription) to get 24/7 recording for the floodlight cam BUT that still will not allow me to have the same functionality of sound detection and clipping as our other older cameras?
