Hi @Kalikamotghare,

Thanks for reaching out about setting up your 2nd Gen Nest Doorbell (wired) in India.

While the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) is a great device, it's important to know that it's not officially sold or supported in India. This means you might encounter some limitations, like warranty coverage and official support channels.

That being said, let's get you set up as best we can!

About your transformer:

The transformer you linked appears to be a doorbell transformer, but it doesn't provide the voltage specifications  needed for the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen).

The Nest Doorbell requires a transformer rated for 16-24 VAC, 10-40 VA. Double-check the specifications of the transformer you purchased to ensure it meets these requirements.

Isolation Relay:

In some cases, you might need an isolation relay to ensure compatibility with your existing doorbell chime in India, especially if it operates on a different voltage than the Nest Doorbell.

Here's what I recommend:

  • Verify Transformer Specs: Confirm the voltage output (VAC) and VA rating of the transformer you purchased. If it doesn't meet the 16-24 VAC, 10-40 VA requirement, you'll need a different one.
  • Check Doorbell Chime Compatibility: See if your existing doorbell chime operates on a voltage compatible with the Nest Doorbell (16-24 VAC). If not, you might need an isolation relay to act as a buffer between them.

Remember, since the Nest Doorbell isn't officially supported in India, there might be unforeseen challenges during setup. If you encounter any issues, these resources might be your best bet for troubleshooting.

Best Regards,
Brandon.
