Hello.

I have had a Nest door bell 2nd Gen wired for 2.5 Years

recently I have come across the light “ spinning green” on the door bell.
I have followed all steps which I have found on google help with still no rectification.
The door bell will not reset or connect to the nest app.

please help.

Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) was released in October 2022, so it sounds more likely you have the original Nest Doorbell (wired, 1st gen). I'm not sure spinning green is a valid colour mode. Is it possibly one of these linked below? Refer to the "Google Nest Doorbell (wired)" section.

Aside from the light ring, what colour is the status light above the camera?

You mentioned it won't reset, what exactly happens when you try to do that? You're following the steps linked below? Refer to the "Nest Doorbell (wired)" section.

Hey Trick,

Thanks for getting back to me with additional information. If you haven’t done so already, follow the steps below to reset the Nest Hello doorbell.

  1. To remove your doorbell from its base, insert the release tool into the hole at the bottom of your doorbell. You can also use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack.
    1. Tip: Don't unscrew the wires attached to the back of your camera.
  2. Hold down two buttons on your doorbell for about 10 seconds:
    1. Hold down the reset pin on the back (insert the release tool or paperclip into the hole near the top).
    2. At the same time, hold down the big doorbell button on the front.
  3. Your doorbell will chime, and its light ring will start spinning blue, then flash yellow, and then all the lights will turn off. Release the two buttons.
  4. The factory reset is complete when your camera chimes and the light ring starts slowly pulsing blue.
  5. After the factory reset, your doorbell will appear as "offline" in the app until you remove it.
  6. To remove it from the app, open the app, then tap Settings > Remove Device > Confirm.
  7. Add the device to the Nest app.

During setup, the light ring spins blue while connecting to the Nest app, then pulses green once when successfully connected to the app.

For everyday use, you may notice the light ring spin blue (not green) when the doorbell button is pressed.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Lance
