I would appreciate some clarity on the event video history. Does it record 3 hours of an event and keep it, or does it only keep recordings for 3 hours?

It records the most recent three hours of all “events”. Events are something such as movement that triggers the camera to record. For example, if moving cars triggered the camera, you would have three hours of that video event history.
Generally speaking the camera does not record three hours of one event however I suppose if something was constantly moving in front of the camera for three hours, you could have a three hour recording of one event.

It only keeps the clip short recordings for up to 3hours. It is NOT a continuous 3 hours and it is not an accumulated 3 hours.

I believe the response and rereading the initial explanation cleared it up. Our current pet cam has a 12 second limit on events, but doesn't have a noticable limit on how many events it saves. My initial read of the description had me worried it was an overall 3 hour limit regardless of number of events, and not a 3 hour limit per event.
