6 wired Next Cams and can only get one to set up.

I just received 6 of the wired google nest cameras.  I was able to download the google home app and install the first camera.  The next camera I tried to install says it cannot connect to any near devices for set up.  What the heck?  I'm going to have to return all of them.

If you read thru this forum you will see a number of people reporting the same issue.  I think one thing you can check is to make sure that Bluetooth is turn ON on your phone.   And that the first camera you got up and running is  nearby (10 feet or so).    I don't understand why Google hasn't chimed in and give people a clear recipe of how to navigate past this problem that so many people are having.

On a slightly different topic I will alert you to the fact that there are still many limitations to these new cameras as compared to the previous models that ran on the NEST app.  For one thing you will not be able to view any of your new cameras on your PC or MAC at all.  Google says this will be in a future release.

So I read a work around that has worked for my house.  I created a new home and installed the additional cameras on it and then removed the first camera from the original account and reinstalled it on the newly created home account.  Worked like a charm.  Problem I now have is that in all of the trying to figure it out I have one camera that I added to a particular home account and then deleted the account.  Well that camera for some reason is still tied to the account that I deleted and I am not able to install that particular camera.  I am wondering if there is a reset button on the camera that I am not aware of.  Any thoughts?

Hmmm, sounds like that camera didn't get deleted from the previous home.  Is there any way you can get it back up and running in that home (maybe by re-creating that home with the EXACT same name) and then seeing if it comes up in that home?  Then try again to REMOVE the camera from the app and seeing if that releases it's hold on it.

I had a similar issue when setting up our Nest cams in Google Home on iOS this week.  It looks like the issue may be specific to the iOS version of the Google Home app.  We’re an iOS household but my partner has a spare Android phone for work.  When I used the Android version of Google Home (signed in to my account) the devices were able to be added to my existing Google Home without issue.
