Simple use case. I have installed a Nest Doorbell. I want to let my child (who lives with me in my house) have access to it. She has a Google account. She is 11. When I try to add her in the Home App under "Invite Person", she is not listed as a possible family member. If I type in her gmail address explicitly, I get a pop-up that says:
Add to devices instead
You can't invite your child to join a home, but you can add them to smart displays & speakers with parental controls.
I have a suspicion about this, but I'm hoping it's wrong. How do I allow my daughter access to my doorbell?

You can't invite children under 13 to share access to your cameras and doorbells; see the "Manage home members" subtopic here:

Isn't it obvious that he didn't? 🤷🏼♂️

Here's an interesting thing I found. This forum would not accept my genuine responses (I rewrote them 2 or 3 times trying to soften them up). No bad words or anything or even recrimination, just my incredulity, but the replies would not take until I just wrote the one word response.

Part of the problem is that when you invite someone to join your Google Nest "home/structure", the only option Google Nest provides is full control of and access to all of your Google Nest devices, which is probably why Google Nest does not let us invite children under 13. There is no option to provide just view access to a camera or doorbell, for example.

Hello Shamrin,
Thanks for posting here in the Community. The other option here, since your daughter's email can’t be invited to have access to the camera, is to sign in with your email or use your alternate email on the Google Home app with your daughter’s phone.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Best,
Edmond
