Audio recording doesn't work on Nest Cam Outdoor (battery)

I put Nest Cam Outdoor (battery, but wired all the time) and Nest Cam Indoor (2nd gen) at same place inside of the house to test. Audio recording is on on two camers. Nest Cam Indoor can detect sound and has event recording in history list, but Nest Cam Outdoor detects nothing for sound, and no recording.

@CatherineFX

Our Google Nest Camera (Battery) is plugged in all the time with the optional power cable and does a good job at detecting events, but if we unplug it, it performs poorly at detecting events.

I have already mentioned,  my Nest Cam Outdoor (batter) is wired all the time (plugged in with power). What you said is not a reason on my side !!

@CatherineFX

Sorry, I should have noticed that. Unlike our older cameras and doorbells, because Google Nest's newer cameras and doorbells work only in the Google Home app, they only detect carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm sounds, a feature we don't find helpful at all.

Have you read what I reported carefully? I know new nest cameras work on Google Home only. Why audio recording can be detected on Nest Cam Indoor and not on Nest Cam Outdoor? Both cameras have exactly same settings under same subscription, connect with power all the time, and put at same place in the house.

@CatherineFX

Sorry again!. This Google Nest customer is sleepy from another morning of snow shoveling.

After re-reading your post again, we have the same 2 newer cameras you have, and both the plugged-in battery camera and the wired indoor camera detect sound and record events. This probably is not the cause for why your outdoor camera is not detecting sound or recording, but under Settings | Audio, are the Microphone and Audio recording both turned on? Also, is your outdoor camera on its magnetic mount? Customers have had issues when the camera is not "mounted". If that doesn't explain it, perhaps you have a defective outdoor camera.

Not only audio recording, I also tested motion and activities dectections when the two cameras put at the same place in the house. They have commonly detected events, but not always. Sometimes, some events missed on Nest Cam Indoor, sometimes, some events missed on Nest Cam Outdoor. Two cameras are not 100% reliable.

Yes. Both microphone and audio recording are turned on. Two cameras have exactly same settings. Nest Cam Outdoor is on its magnetic mount.

Thank you. I don't need help for this issue.  Both indoor and outdoor 2nd generation cameras have missed events under same testing environment and same settings. These are software issues unless have 24/7 continuous recording. Honest to say, software quality of nest 1st generation cameras is much better than 2nd generation cameras. Also, from user point of view, Nest app is much better than Home app, still software related.
