I've had the battery powered nest doorbell for 2 years. I didn't realize that my wiring would keep a continuous charge on the doorbell so I didn't have to charge my doorbell for all 2 years. Last week, my doorbell stopped working. I disconnected it and saw that it was fully discharged. I fully charged it and I wired it back at the front door. The camera worked for a day and the battery died again. I'm assuming my wiring provides the power to the doorbell considering I didn't have to charge the doorbell for 2 years. Why did my doorbell all of a sudden stop working?

See Google Nest's response on this thread; their latest release causes the battery in the battery doorbell to rund down if it is wired to your transformer.
