Best Outdoor Camera Choose the last 4 digits of your camera's serial number.

trying to add a next outdoor battery camera to my existing home through the Nest App, and it keeps getting stuck at the part asking to “Choose the last 4 digits of your camera's serial number.” No numbers auto populate no matter how long I wait. I set up the camera successfully through the Google Home app, thinking that it would sync to the Nest app, but it appears that the only way to use it on the nest app is to set it up through nest, then it will sync with the Google home app, but not the other way around. Any help with this part of the setup process would be much appreciated!

Hi @ZGryzzl,

Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're unable to add your Nest Camera Outdoor Battery to the Nest app. I'm happy to help!

Currently, connecting your Nest Camera Outdoor Battery is not supported by the Nest app. After migrating your Google Account, you should be able to view your Nest Cameras 1st Generation on the Google Home app.

Also, you can Visit our Help Center to learn more about setting up and connecting your Nest camera. Depending on the model you have.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Melany

So you’re saying that nest cameras are not compatible with the nest app? Our nest doorbell camera also doesn’t show up on the Google hub max when, and the Google hub camera doesn’t show up on the Nest app either. Why are these products advertised to work together when none of them are actually compatible? Wanted thousands of dollars buying nest/google products that are supposedly compatible, only for none of them to work together. Stop making selling products that don’t work. What a joke.

Hi there!

Thanks for the follow-up. I understand how frustrating it can be when some devices aren't compatible as expected.

To better assist you, I'd like to ask a question:

  • Have you migrated your Nest account to Google Account?

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany

It appears I have merged my nest account to a Google account. When I go to settings in the nest app, there is no option to merge to a Google account, so I assume that means it has already been completed.

Hi there!

Thanks for the follow-up.

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • What type of Nest Doorbell do you have?
  • Are the Nest Doorbell and Google Nest Hub Max set up under the same home structure?

In the meantime, let's check this tip:

Google Nest Hub Max camera isn't currently compatible with the Nest app. You can control and monitor the Nest Hub Max through the Google Home app.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
