the solar panel will only extend the battery life of the camera, I doubt it'll record 24/7, you can also get the weather proof cable for the camera and with that the camera will record 24/7 if you get Nest Aware Plus

Thanks for posting in the Community. If you've hooked up your Nest Cam (battery-powered) to a solar panel, like the Wasserstein Solar Panel, it's worth noting that the panel doesn't directly power the camera. Instead, the solar panel slowly charges the battery, and the camera runs on the battery's charge.

Keep in mind that when the temperature is between -4°F (-20°C) and 32°F (0°C), the camera will still work. However, the battery will drain because the solar panel can't charge it properly in those conditions. If the battery runs out completely, the camera will shut down.
