Brand new doorbell says OFFLINE

It was online for all of 2 hours after installation. My dad asks if his package arrived and if I saw it on my app. I go to check and it says DEVICE OFFLINE. No matter what I do, restart my Wi-Fi, deleted the app, nothing works. There's also none of the previous videos that were there when we were seeing up the doorbell onto the wall and testing it by ringing the doorbell. Should I just return it? I saw a locked thread in here with 400 comments. And the answer was "yeah so it was just a 5 June shutdown of Google nest that affected everyone..." IT'S 22 DECEMBER AND MY CANBERRA IS BRAND NEW OUT OF THE PACKAGE TODAY.

Is the doorbell getting enough power ?  Could be your transformer isn't strong enough to power the doorbell.   Nest doorbells work fine .. I'm still using a 1st gen one with no issues..unless the wifi goes out of course 🙂

You can check transformer requirements in the link below. We upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer a couple of years ago; other customers in this forum report doing the same. What transformer you need can also be affected by how long a run your doorbell wires have.

You could also check the strength of the Wi-Fi signal near your doorbell.

And if you do NOT have a Nest Aware subscription, then your event video history is only retained for 3 hours.
