My camera ran out of battery

The battery in the battery camera in the floodlight fixture should NOT deplete unless the camera is NOT getting continuous power. We've had a battery camera (the same camera used in the floodlight fixture) since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional power cable, and it's been online and live continuously. Is the power cable plugged into the bottom of the camera securely? Is there any corrosion there, or does it get wet? If your camera is on a switched circuit, is that switch always on?
I don't know the lifetime of the battery, however.)
I've seen a few other posts like yours in this forum from owners of the floodlight camera. You could try contacting Support to see if you have a defective camera:
1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

I'm no expert and don't claim to be however i do have 12 cameras and had them for over 2 years... Sometimes i find mine will not charge either. I get a dry toothbrush and brush the charge port on the camera to give it a clean hoping it may be dust or some form of residue etc. Then give the charge cable a little extre push to seat it correctly I don't always rely on the magnet to secure a charging connection. If that doesn't work sometimes I do this.. On the end of the charge cable the small gold connections are actually spring loaded. I use my finger nail to push the connections in and out you will feel them spring back. I have had a cable with one connection that wouldn't spring back "google wouldn't warranty this by the way"... I changed charging cables and the camera then charged.. I hope you can find a fix for your problem i understand how frustrating these cams can be at times
