Camera/Floodlight won’t finish setup

Underdog

I have a camera/floodlight that worked fine until I changed routers. It went offline and when I try to set it up again I get to turning the power on - the floodlight comes on and the little light is immediately green instead of flashing white / blue. When I click to finish setup it says something went wrong. I’ve deleted it from the app and started over and it does the same thing. Any ideas?

Google Nest doesn't make it easy to update its devices when you install a new Wi-Fi router. The easiest way--if you can manage it--is to set the network name (SSID) and password on your new router to the same values you used on the old router. If you can't do that, you have to work your way through Google Nest's instructions (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10165378?hl=en) and hope that nothing goes wrong.

I’ve been waiting on my son to help with suggestions since he’s the one who installed the new router but he won’t be back for a couple of weeks thanks

Hey Underdog,

Understood — keep us posted.

Thanks,

Archie

We were successful getting this issue solved. The instructions say to hold the reset 5 seconds. This apparently wasn’t adequate. When we held the reset in up to 15 seconds we were about to add the camera. The only issue we have now is my app shows two cameras and it won’t let me remove the first one.
