Camera not working

Pmilne
Community Member

My indoor nest camera (2nd gen) doesn't connect and when you unplug then plug back in the white light pulses a few times then goes off.

It had worked and we unplugged for a while. I've tried a different plug and in a different socket and same thing.

Its an expensive item and frustrating it does work anymore.

You could try a factory reset. The instructions are here, after the "Restart" instructions. You have to press the reset button for at least 12 seconds.

Then you could try reinstalling it in the Google Home app.

Doesn't seem to have a reset button. White Light comes on then goes out. Then nothing. Very frustrating

@Pmilne

The reset hole on the battery camera and floodlight camera is on the bottom of the camera. On the 2nd gen indoor camera it is on the bottom of the camera head between the power cord and the camera head.

See the factory reset instructions link I posted earlier; unless your camera is defective, you may be getting a white light that goes out because you are "restarting" the camera rather than holding down the reset pin for at least 12 seconds for a "factory reset".

If you can't get it to work, you could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
