Cameras don’t stream with dual sim on

Hi,

Nest Camera stream is not working on the google home app when i have my dual sims on, however it works perfectly fine once i turn off the dual sim feature. From my little research, it seems that i am not alone with this issue.

I have tried a lot of the possible solutions including whipping both my phone and the camera network.

My device is an iPhone 14 pro with the latest iOS 17 version and all related apps are up to date.

It is very frustrating and thanks for your help in advance.

Hello Moatazb

Thank you for letting me know your concerns, but don’t worry I’m here to help you. Regarding the information provided, let’s try to troubleshoot this situation by doing these steps.

  1. Check App Permissions:  Make sure the Google Home app has permission to access mobile data. You can usually find this setting in your iPhone's Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data section.
  2. Reinstall the App: Sometimes a reinstall can clear up glitches. Try deleting and reinstalling the Google Home app, then log back in and see if the stream works with both SIMs on.
  3. Try a Different SIM Configuration: If possible, try using just one SIM card at a time and see if the stream works with either. This might help narrow down if the issue is with a specific SIM or carrier.

Let me know how it goes,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately i have already did all steps mentioned with no result. I have even disabled/enabled data switching to try and see if it has any effect. In fact, I even did a full factory reset of my iPhone and it did nothing.

Either SIM, when working solo, works just fine and all cameras are working perfectly. WIFI also works with the Home app fine. Its only when both SIMs are turned on, the app goes crazy and just won’t stream.

i hope you can help because i love my nest system but this driving me crazy as i need to turn off one of the SIMs to view the camera feeds, which you can figure out how frustrating it is.

Since you've tried typical troubleshooting steps, here are some additional things you can explore:

  • Check Network Settings: Ensure your iPhone's data roaming is disabled for both SIM cards. Conflicting data roaming settings might interfere with the Google Home app.
  • Contact Apple Support: While the issue seems related to the Google Home app, there might be a possibility of a conflict with iOS 17 or your iPhone's dual SIM functionality.

Regards,

Daniel
