Cameras no recording history events

I had both cameras recording history events but recently one camera stopped recording events. I have the Google nest aware for $100 a year.

The doorbell camera seems to still be recording events. The drive way camera stopped recording events. Why? I can't get it to start recording events again.

That's odd.  If you had the battery camera running on battery power, the camera might not wake up from "Idle" mode to record events.  (If we unplug our battery camera, it is very poor at recognizing and recording someone walking in front of the camera.)  But if your floodlight camera (which is actually a battery camera) is connected to a circuit that is always turned on, it should always show as "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol in Settings, and it should detect most events.

Under Settings | Video | Video History for your driveway camera in the Google Home app, which option is selected?

30-day video history

In my settings, video offers only two options: no events saved or events saved for 3 hours. This is a recent change. Previously, I had a multi-day history of events. The camera is battery powered, as it was from day one. Perhaps there was some ‘upgrade’ that I had no warning of, or choice in accepting or not. Anyone else experience this?

@Ed55

If those are the only two options listed under Settings | Video | Video History, then your camera is not on a Nest Aware subscription.  Did you have a 30-day trial Nest Aware subscription that expired?  Did your paid Nest Aware subscription lapse?

You can check your subscription here: https://store.google.com/subscriptions

In the Google Home app, you can go to Settings | Subscriptions | Nest Aware to see what subscription you have.

it was recently renewed for the year $100. It's good until June 2026. Why can't I post screenshots anymore?

@Micmic1

I was responding to customer @Ed55, who apparently does NOT have a Nest Aware subscription.

In your case, I don't know any more than what I noted in my earlier reply.

The upload capability in this forum seems be be broken at the moment.  That happens from time to time for reasons unknown to me.  I just tried to upload an example and got an upload error.
