The Nest app shows live video from my cameras just by launching it. They're right there on the main screen and I don't have to dive any deeper to see who's there.
With the Google Home app, it appears that I have to tap on the camera before I'll see anything.
Is there a way for the Camera tiles in the main screen of the Google Home app to draw useful video instead of gray blobs? I saw some marketing screenshots that look like that may be the case, but I can't find an option to do so.

The best you can do is to click the "Cameras" icon on the initial screen in the Google Home app.
