The microphone on the 4 cameras (3 outdoor and one indoor wired, one outdoor- battery) and doorbell (wired) pick up sounds, however when attempting to use the two way communication, the cameras and doorbell will chime when microphone is activated on a phone or computer but when speaking there is no audio from the camera or doorbell and when you cancel the microphone the chime again announces it. This began a few months ago, cameras had worked well for at least 6 months. I have tried the unplug/plugin fix and have removed cameras from network and reinstalled. I have also added two new cameras and they had the same issue from initial setup. So it is probably somewhere in settings maybe? I cannot find it, ALL microphones and audio settings are enabled for each camera. Is there a permission for the network overall that I am missing? Any ideas? Thanks.

I am having similar issues with recently purchased doorbell battery. When speaking through home app on android device, the volume is so low which made me think the mic was off. But when i tried yelling through the phone, i realised its not off, its just extremely low. Google supports response was to get a new phone lol.

Interesting. The only problem is it worked for awhile with both of our phones. Now it doesn't. Did they have any phone brand selections to recommend? A pixel perhaps? 😉

It was really weird response. I told the chat support that i've tested it on two phones (galaxy s20+ and 21+). And the response was that i need to repair both phones, when we have no issues, other than the problem with home app. Anyway, i hope its just a bug with the app, and is fixed soon.

Brad,
So far haven't gotten any input that helps. I did have my son connect his old Pixel (2 or 3 I think) camera to our system and he can talk through the cameras.
Samsung S9 and my Sonim X8 do not work with it. I do not know what compatibility issues there are with phones. Not sure if there was an update at some time that changed something.
So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Troy

Thanks for getting back with me. I have done everything I can think of. I removed the cameras and reinstalled them. I reset the phones (Sonim X8 and Samsung S7) and reinstalled Google Home on both. Nothing seems to work. I did have my son connect to the system with his Pixel 3 and it works just fine. The devices (hubs ) in the system can all talk through the Doorbell as well so I don't think this is a hardware issue.

TT

Thanks so much for giving me that information TT.
So it sounds like your son's phone which is a Pixel 3 is able to connect to everything and works just fine, but your Samsung and Android doesn't work with it. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the apps on those phones? It may be an issue of the whatever version or update you have on the apps that may be causing the issue.
I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Nest and Home apps on both phones. No change. Does not work. The same thing... microphone is activated and deactivated you can hear the tone but there is no audio when speaking.

Hi there, TT.
Samsung Galaxy devices tend to have a rough time at this moment, I know this is an issue that we are looking into. I do not have any ETA of when we will have a fix. Please try your best to use other means to manage your Cameras and Doorbells. Please let me know if you need any further assistance with this issue.
Best Regards,
Brad.
