Can't Connect Google Nest Camera to wifi

n33d_h3lp
Community Member

Hello,

I setup a new Google Next Cam (Indoor wired 2nd Gen) at my parents house but now want to set it up at my house.

Every time I try to add it as a new device it doesn't connect. I get now blue light or chime.

I tried deleting it from my parents home account and it's still not working.

Thanks in advance for any help!

are you within the return window?  If so, I would 100% recommend sending it back.  look at all of these issues on the forum.  @google needs to do better.

@n33d_h3lp

You may need to do a factory reset on your camera to set it up on a new WiFi.  (It's good that you already removed it from your parents' account.)

I have the same problem. I tried the factory reset and setting it up in the Google Home app. It does not find my Wi-Fi network and tries by connecting with another device and fails. I've spend hours trying to figure this out, Am I supposed to get the blue blinking light after factory reset?

these cameras are terrible, factory reset made sure its 2.4(which beggars belief). no good(sense my frustration, not worth the grammar), dont put out products if you are not serious about it, just shocking

Hello letscallmebob,

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Let me help you out. Just a few questions: What type of Nest Camera are you setting up? What is the LED light on the Nest Camera when you try to connect? If the LED light is not blinking blue, it’s not in pairing mode. Check out this link on how to Restart or factory reset your Nest camera or doorbell.

I look forward to your response.

Best,

Edmond

Its back and running, but for whatever reason one took several tries, what i dont get is same  ssid/pass and it did not connect, but had to do the whole factory reset, 1 of the 3 cameras no issue, but the other two a real pain. I think the QR code we are meant to keep should show up here on the order if you need to go back to it its there, you dont lose it. Its just all a bit harder than it should be

I need help connecting my camera.  I have spent hours.  I unplugged the cameras numerous times.  I also did a reset by holding on the button numerous times but it only turned off or turned yellow for a second.

I keep getting error message C119 or 106.  It keeps saying Couldn't connect to Nest.  Your wifi router is not connected to the internet or Camera could not be added to Nest Account.  Help!!

I have lived in my place for almost 3 years...these are cameras installed by previous owners.  Is that why I am having so many issues???

Hi everyone,

@Susan8 and @alrager, thanks for posting in our Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having problems connecting your Nest cameras. Let’s check it out.

A few questions: what type of Nest cameras do you have? Are you using an iOS or Android device? What is the color of the status light? Also, are you using the Google Home or the Nest app?

Let’s try the steps here: Troubleshoot connecting to the app during setup.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Lance
