I needed to change SSID so went through factory reset process on wired doorbell. I can’t get past the “Connecting to Joining Device” step. I had no problem resetting / entering SSID on two Nest Cameras. I also have a Nest thermostat. Router reset / iPhone reset didn’t help.

Same boat, looks like we both got scammed. Moved houses and now my cameras cannot be detected, suprise... guess i'll have to buy more right google?

Any Community Experts out there? I’ve now physically removed / powered down all other Google devices (2 cameras, 2 voice assistants, Nest thermostat), and the doorbell is still trying to connect to a joining device. Never succeeds. Another factory reset didn’t help. All my other IoT devices (both Google and non-Google) successfully re-connected to my new SSID.
Suggestions? This didn’t happen when I first installed my doorbell 2 years ago and had active Google devices on the network. How can I get the Google app to prompt me for SSID to connect my doorbell?

@BTamm, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, do you have the 1st gen or the battery type? What is the light status of your Nest Doorbell? How did you perform the reset?
@NestIsAScam, which Nest Camera do you have? Have you tried resetting it to the factory default? In case you have the battery type, kindly follow the steps below.
To reset:
1. Locate the reset button on the back of your Nest Camera.
2. Press and hold the button:
3. Release the button. Your Nest Camera will restore to its factory settings.
4. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.
To remove it from the app, open the app, tap on the device, then tap Settings> Remove device > Confirm.

I did this process listed above and I still cannot join it connect my device.

A few questions: what model of Nest camera do you have? What is the color of the status light? Are you using an iOS or Android device? Also, are you using the Google Home or Nest app to set up the device?
