Can't log in to existing Nest App

Hello,

The Nest app on my iPhone 12 has worked fine for years.  I have 2 Nest outdoor cameras on it. I've never had to re-log in to the app.  I click the app, and my cameras are there, and up and running.

About a month ago:   I cannot see my cameras.  The app says I have to log in.  And I can't.  I chose "reset password" and I never got the email to reset it.  I've tried that numerous times.  I know I entered the correct email address for that account.

I've researched this a lot and nothing is working for me.  I've read that they are dropping Nest Aware.  I am not using Nest Aware.

The Nest app (and Nest on my PC) said to log in using Google.  I've tried that.  I went to the Google Home app and tried to log in there.  It allowed me to set up a new account, but when I scanned the code on one of my cameras it told me "that camera is already in use.  You must remove it from that account."  That other account is me, and I can't get into that account to delete the cameras.  I also don't see any factory reset for my cameras.

Also, one of my cameras still has a green light on it.  The other one now has a red light.

Apparently, there is no phone number for Google to talk to a person about this.

What do I need to do to fix this?

The most likely reason for being unable to log back onto the Google Nest app and for not receiving a password reset email is because you're trying to use an incorrect email address.

Google Nest is NOT dropping the Nest Aware subscription service. On April 8, 2024, it dropped support for Dropcams and the Nest Secure alarm system:

It sounds like you've been logging onto the Google Nest app with a non-gmail account using the "Sign on with Nest" option. If that's the case, you can't switch to the "Sign on with Google" option until you migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account:

If you want to talk to Support, you can use the steps below.  Unless there is something broken with Google Nest's password reset process, they may not be able to help you.  If you don't have the original email address you were previously using to log into the Google Nest app, they may not be able to help:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

My original outdoor nest cam camera suddenly went off line,  no light. Unplugged it, nothing. i had to turn in my indoor drop cam, for a free trade of a google nest cam camera, which I can not talk through, or save clips. There is no email showing me my subcriptions either and when they expire.  How can I tell if the outdoor subcription expired?

I don't like that I can not save clips or talk to my dog through the camera. I will be looking for another alternative

Thank you!  With your help . . . I was able to talk with someone.  I am to unplug both of my cameras for 48 hours.  That will (either) do a reset, allow a reset to be done, or allow him to access them so he can reset them.  I will come back and let you know how it goes. Thank you again.  Rick
