I've upgraded my Nest Video Doorbell to 2nd Generation. It does not work with the Nest App as they are phasing out the app and integrating with Google Home. No problem. I'll keep both apps up for now.
I went to download a clip from Google Home. Read the previous articles about going to event history and near the top is a download button. Nope. No button or way to download a clip. If you are going to phase out the old app...then how do I download from the new app?
I must be missing something? Using iPhone 14 / Google Home App / Nest App.
Thanks in advance.
Update: Just an addition. I cannot download any clip from Google Home. No icon anywhere for it. No option. Even tried 'event history' and hitting the three dots. Still nothing to allow it. Should I delete the app?

Google Nest's online directions are wrong; there is no "Download" button. They have been told their directions are wrong.
Go to your camera in the Google Home app.
Tap on "History" below the camera feed so to shows "Full history" below the video feed.
Tap on "Full history".
Tap on the event you want to download.
Tap on the "More" icon (the 3 dots) in the upper right corner.
Select "Save clip to device."
If it's an iPhone, you'll be prompted to allow "Google Home" to access your photos.
On an iPhone, the clip gets saved to the Photos app.

I wish that were true...It's so strange. Here are some snapshots. No download action at all. I'm wondering if its because my cameras are on both Google Home and the Nest App. Maybe they are the older ones and only have download ability in the Nest App. That's got to be it. Even hitting the event history doesn't do anything...

You're right; you have to still use the Google Nest app for the older cameras.
The screen shots you provided are for one of the older cameras that work in the Google Nest app. For those cameras, you still have to use the Google Nest app to download clips, but at least there you can manually edit clips, something you can't do in the Google Home app.
It's all part of Google Nest's 2-app approach.
The instructions I listed above are for the newer cameras and doorbells that work ONLY in the Google Home app. That's what I thought you were looking for.
Confusing, yes.

Thanks for the replies! Appreciate the confirmation. Not sure why they are just not incorporating everything into the Home app...including the older cameras. Hmmm. Just strange. Hope they figure something out. In the meantime, two apps, lol.

Hi Brad...
If you read the thread...is that correct as noted? Is Google going to shutter the Nest App at some point in '23?
Is it correct that older cameras only work now with the Nest App and only newer ones and the newer version of the doorbell work in Google Home. In essence I have to keep both apps?
Thanks.

I am afraid I do not have a direct answer to your question, but as of right now, both the Nest app and Google Home app are supported. Once we have more information, it will definitely be shared with the community.
Best regards,
Brad
