I migrated my nest account to google. Everything migrated over except the doorbell, nest gen 1. tech said to rest to factory setting which I did, bit when installing still says it is connected to an old account (nest). I cannot sign into the old account since I migrated. Help.

Did you get any error messages during the migration?

For that model, resetting doesn't remove your account, so your doorbell still believes it's connected to an account, your legacy Nest account, which you no longer have access to if the migration has otherwise finished.

In this situation, when your video history has expired (this depends on what Nest Aware plan you had), you'll be able to pair the camera to your account again. There's no way to check when the history has expired unfortunately, other than to periodically retry setup.

Thank you, bit no error message. And I had no plan, just free. I guess I will keep checking back but  it has been at least a month.

Hi there @Librarygirl303

I'm sorry you're running into this situation with your Nest Doorbell connectivity.

If you're seeing the message “Camera is connected to another account”, during migration, it might be because the previous video history hasn't expired yet. This can take up to 60 days. Try checking again in a week or two.

If the steps provided above doesn't work, try the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Unplug the camera(s).
  2. Wait at least 48 hours (2 days).
  3. Before the pairing process, change the Wi-Fi network SSID.
Important: These steps disconnect any devices that are currently connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  4. Plug the cameras back into a power outlet and connect them to the account using the new Wi-Fi network SSID.
  5. Once they're paired, change the Wi-Fi network SSID back to the original SSID.
  6. Use the Nest app to update the camera's Wi-Fi settings to reflect the original SSID.

Keep me posted,

Best regards,

Melany
