Cannot connect nest battery camera. App times out

Hi!

I have been trying for weeks on end to get my Nest Battery Camera connected to my system.  I’m on the same network all my other nest equipment is on. I’ve checked all the router settings rebooted the router, camera and my iPad. When I try to connect the last camera, it gets as far as trying to connect to other devices. Then it just says something went wrong, please exit and try again.  I’ve been dealing with this for over a month now. Can someone please advise me on something I might be missing?  The other 3 connected just fine.

Thanks for any help.  Im extremely frustrated

I wonder if it is the same issue.

My Google nest camera with floodlights worked only as long as the free subscription was active. My other 2 nest gen 1 cameras work, but the new google camera no longer will show live video.

Hello, if you read thru this forum you will see a good number of people have had this same issue.  I can't see any one thing they did to fix the problem.    Some people have reported that they use a different device (IE a different phone or table) to add the camera and it might work.   Others have determined that the camera was previously connected to a different Gmail address and was not properly 'removed' and the system won't add it to a new location.

You might try and speak with an actual google tech on the phone.  Click this link and answer the questions and you will be offered the choice of on-line chat or a real phone call.  If you get it working please return here and let us know how you got past it.

I stuggled with this for over a year. I finally stumbled across a suggestion to use my phone's HOT SPOT to initially connect the cam. I thought well OK, I'll give it a shot. It worked. Could not believe it.

Make sure you have your hotspot turned on.

Get your cam to the point where you choose your network. Choose your hot spot. (If it does not show up try turning it off and then back on on your phone.

Once the camera connects, let it do it's thing. Answer any questions that come up.

Once it says that you are ready to go, Hold the reset button in for about 20 seconds until you hear a chime and let go.

Now repeat the process to connect to your home wifi.  Hope this helps

Hi Djanse, thanks for the update and I'm glad you got it going.  But I think we (users) can all agree it shouldn't be this hard.

I Totally agree. I didn’t have the issue until I switched to my Motorola Modem to save the rental from Xfinity. I was extremely unhappy considering how much I had invested in Google
