Casting nest doorbell (battery) to Chromecast w Google TV

Did a fair bit of searching and it seems this is possible with the wired version of the doorbell, is this not available or will it be available to be done at some point in the future? Everytime I try I get that my Chromecast doesn't support casting my doorbell to my TV.

At the moment it's not possible:

"Note: Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Doorbell (battery) can only stream to a smart display screen"

source It does seem a strange restriction, so maybe they'll add this in an update.

I have this same question

I have the same issue, unable to stream the nest doorbell (battery) or the nest outdoor camera  (battery) to  Chromecast. I get a response saying "unable to stream to a remote screen" or something like that.

Also experiencing this, kinda thought this functionality would have been a given?

Hi Jeran, I'm not sure if your in touch with the product team, but it would be great if you could confirm if:

  • this is a known issue
  • If it's planned to be addressed in a future update, and any planned release timeframe.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Cheers, Matt

Nope, it's being addressed so we'll just see when we get there, Thank you 😃

Awesome to hear, thanks for taking time to respond, appreciate it 🙂

Hey there!

It's correct that this design choice is intentional, however if that were to change anytime soon, Google will definitely keep you updated. For now, I'm locking up the thread. As always, feel free to make a new thread if you have any more questions or concerns.

Thank you for your help on this, everyone!!

Best regards,
Jeran
