Chime Not Working and Speaker Announcement Cconcern

Two issues/questions. First, the Chime is Not Working. I recently had a new wired Nest Doorbell, S/N 39011GZF20F9PQ, plus a new mechanical chime (puck was added) and transformer (Intertek 5014368) installed. The camera appears to be working fine but not the chime, it’s not chiming at all. After checking the system, the installer said that “the battery was probably low and needed a while to charge.” It’s been two days, and the chime is still not working at all, no sound. Second, In the meantime, I added an older google speaker to the Google Home app yesterday. Today the speaker started to announce that someone has rung the bell (Does it take a day to “connect”). Also, it appears that the speaker announcement does not repeat unless  there is a delay between pressing the alarm. Two questions: 1) What could cause the chime not to work, and 2) Why does the speaker announcement come only after the first of repeated pushes on the doorbell; is there a minimum time that must pass between doorbell pushes and can that be adjusted.

Your indoor doorbell chime SHOULD work if your chime puck is wired correctly (see the diagram here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/12153643) and the "Indoor chime" option is enabled in the Google Home app.

It's normal to not get a "visitor announcement" on your Nest Hubs if the doorbell button is pressed a second time. Google Nest's cameras and doorbells have some sort of a cool-down period, where they won't trigger a second event shortly after a first event. Google Nest does not document this and the cool-down period cannot be configured.
