DO NOT PURCHASE the Google "Nest" Battery Cameras...

The Nest app DOES NOT SUPPORT this battery powered camera.  Doesn't show up.  Forget about getting a desktop view of your cameras.

Furthermore, the camera DOES NOT SUPPORT 24/7 RECORDING AS ADVERTISED.  It goes "IDLE" even if connected to a power source.  You can also ONLY VIEW THIS CAMERA THROUGH THE HORRIBLE GOOGLE HOME APP.  That's right, if you have older Nest cameras and a newer battery powered model, you'll need TWO APPS.

I'm not expecting an answer from Google here... All the other threads in which they reply they completely disregard their grievances.

I agree with the rest of your post and the fact that the camera is not supported by the Google Nest app or on home.nest.com and we now have to use 2 apps to support our Google Nest cameras.  But our new Google Nest Camera Battery is connected to power using Google's optional 10-meter power cable, and we are getting 24/7 recording going back 10 days and event history going back to when we purchased the camera at the beginning of September, under our existing Nest Aware subscription.

What did you mean by "goes IDLE"?  (Note that I'm just another Nest customer.)

  3. In the feedback summary, write a brief description of your issue.
  4. Be sure to check the box for Screenshot and System logs.

I also have a wired nest flood light. Why does it show battery life? Isn’t it connected to power?and also why does it go idle? My nest front door cam does not so this?

It sounds like you may not have your Nest Cam with Floodlight installed correctly. Please look over this article to go over the installation process. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.
