I replaced my old outdoor Nest cams with new ones. They needed replacing because the lenses fell off and the wires dry rotted. What a mistake. The new cameras can’t even serve their basic function because there are no date/timestamps on the video and most importantly date/timestamps on footage that gets downloaded. Date/timestamps were a feature previously in the Nest app but now that Google has forced all new devices to use its Home app, the Nest app can’t be used for the new cameras. Every other competitor dates and timestamps their video footage. I live in a city. The purpose of my cameras is for security. Without date/timestamps the footage is useless to me, to law enforcement, and completely defeats the purpose of having cameras. Furthermore, ADT is advertising these cameras alongside its “build your own” security system. What a rip off. Customers have been talking about this long enough. Fix this now.

If you can you may want to return the new cameras and buy used Gen 1 cameras from Ebay. That is what I did when I bought a gen 2 camera and learned about all the limitations. I have been sending feedback to Google for over 2 years now asking for the time/date stamp in the Google Home app and here we are NOTHING! There are other things missing as well that I'm still waiting for.
