Do Not Disturb

Em-El

My new outdoor camera complete with floodlight cannot override Do Not Disturb. Neither can my doorbell. I either have to leave it off and being woken by spams in the middle of the night or risk not knowing who approached my place during the night.

Can somebody please tell me how to solve it.

I'm not aware of any "Do Not Disturb" setting on any of our cameras and doorbells. Are you talking about your phone's "Do Not Disturb" feature? If so, there is no way for Google Nest alerts to override our phone's "Do Not Disturb" settings. I think that would have to be built into the Android or iOS operating system and is not in Google Nest's control.

Thank you for your reply but I am not sure I understood it. The doorbell used to give me warnings if anybody came near the house day or night on the same settings, that is all notifications to override DND.It stopped about a month ago giving warning during the night when the DND is on as it has been for years. Something has changed at your end

The camera which is new gave three false alarms so far indicating that there was a person in the back garden, there was nobody.

I am disabled and I bought these devices to make me feel safe. They don't.

I'm just another Google Nest customer. We have iPhones, where there is no option to override "Do Not Disturb" for camera notifications, so I mistakenly assumed there was no such option. However, there is such an option for Android phones (see below). My apologies.

Dear MplsCustomer ,thanks for the help, I shall try to contact them.

  • Bless you. I actually got through a living person. Thank you very much.  Unfortunately I got a guy who had no idea and kept on asking irrelevant questions, like in which shop did I buy the devices. He promised to pass it on to something called concern team who should contact me by email. It doesn't sound likely, does it? What do you think? The doorbell is really playing up, getting to suspect  Nest Aware.
