Why did google remove dog barking alerts on cameras? Especially the indoor or floodlight or outdoor with power cord? I imagine it has something to do with the price point compared to the old nest subscription plan but customers want it back!! The entire reason I bought all the google nest cameras instead of a competing brand was because on my old nest hello camera I could enable dog barking alerts. I installed them all around my house and the main reason was for the city to have evidence of the neighbors dogs that bark all day and pre 6am in the morning-they required evidence of this for citations. Many, Many people have posted similar reasons in the google forums for buying the google cameras due to neighbors dogs barking when asking them politely doesn't work. When can customers expect this feature to return, if ever? Wish I hadn't spent money on google nest cameras...big fail on google's part for taking dog barking notifications away. Money would've been better spend on CCTV cameras.

Hello brad37,
Thanks for posting here in the Community and for sharing with us your ideas and thoughts about this issue. Dog barking on Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) requires a paid Nest Aware 2nd gen subscription. Person talking and dog barking on Nest Cam (battery) is available only on a wired setup. Hit this link for more information.

Emerson

Dog barking alerts are NOT available on the new google nest cameras. Wired or wireless. My question was why did they change it and are there plans to bring back the dog barking alerts????

Hi brad37,
Thanks for getting back to us. We appreciate your interest however, we don't have any news to share about applying this feature through the Nest app or Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback about your concern using this form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this after 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
Thanks,
Emerson
