Door bell camera not capturing events

My doorbell camera is not capturing events. Yesterday i was working in frontvyard and took down our basket ball net. It caprued someone walking by 10 minutes before i started working and did not capture anything for over 2 hours during that time i was back and forth with a hand truck ... draing water from the base and I then REMOVED the basket ball net. And it did not capture it.  So in short someone could have backed a truck up and stole it for all we knew

Hi MFlusk,

We’re sorry to hear that.  Let’s have a better look — a few questions: when did the issue start? Does it happen intermittently or persistently? Are there any Activity Zones set up for the camera? Were there any changes to the WiFi network? Also, has the camera been moved recently?

Try creating separate zones for areas where you expect events to happen and where events can be ignored.

Here’s how:

  • On the Google Home app
    • Select the camera you want to set up Activity Zones for.
    • On the top-right, tap Event.
    • Tap Seen events.
    • Tap + Add a zone to create zones.
  • On the Nest app:
    • Open the Nest app and select the camera you want to set Activity Zones for.
    • Tap Settings Settings.
    • Select Activity zones.
    • Tap Create zone. The new zone appears in the middle of the screen.
Tip: For a better view, set your phone’s orientation to landscape mode for a full screen view of the camera.

To learn more about creating Activity Zones, check out this guide: Set up and use Activity Zones.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn
