Doorbell 2. Gen(battery) will not Connect to Google Home - do not finish Update

Hi

in Tvis week I just received my Google Doorbell 2. Gen(battery) - the problem:

When setting it up it never completes because it never completes the Update - just writing “update 26%” and the it comes up with a error message after some time. 

I have tried the following:

- reset 

- factory reset 

- connecting to another Google home

none of them worked

any sugggestions?

Hi Alex81,

 

Thanks for taking some steps beforehand — these are of great help! Let’s see what’s going on — a few questions: is the camera plugged in during setup? What’s the status light of the camera? How far is the camera from the router? Also, what Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?

Hi @janthadeus 

Well I Got it working. I had to switch my router over 2 use 2,4 GHz during the installation. I did this because of the info found by searching on issues related to the doorbell. It should have been mentioned in the instruction video.

but it works now - thanks
