Doorbell (Battery) not ringing to inside chime. Inside chime sounds continually.

Installed the Nest Doorbell (battery) and noticed my doorbell wasn't getting power from transformer.

 

Reinstalled transformer and am now getting a green light and powered notification.  However, when I tap the additional wires to my indoor chime on the house, it constantly rings (electric/digital chime).

 

I then have to take off the wires going to the chime from the transformer to get it to turn off.

Voltage into transformer is 124VAC.  Voltage out is 17-18VAC.  Voltage at doorbell is 17-18VAC.  Voltage at chime (when plugged in) is 17-18VAC.

Your doorbell chime may not be wired correctly.
