Doorbell (battery) - Google Home

Just bought a Nest Doorbell.... plugged it in, have the Google Home App, adding device, scan QR Code....Nothing.  I tried manually adding the code found on the device....Nothing.  Does the device have to be fully charged first? At the moment plugged in and little light flashing blue.  Help!!

The router from Bell Canada is a Home Hub 4000.  We had to click the UPnP off, so disabled it to work.  Once we had it up and running we turned that feature back on without any problems with the Nest Doorbell.  Sounds weird but apparently on of the problems with "Plug & Pray"

Hi OttawaPilot.  I has been a while since I activated mine but I don't think it needs to be fully charged. It should be able to be added with the way you have it plugged in.

Make sure you have your phone connected to your WIFI and also you Bluetooth is active on your phone.

Here is a video that shows how the process should go....

I hope this helps.  Let me know what happens.  If you are able to get it going please return here and click ACCEPT SOLUTION.

Hey OttawaPilot,

Appreciate the help, EmptyNester. I'm dropping by to ensure if everything is covered here. Hope that sheds some light on the issue.

Thanks,

Archie

Thank you....finally figured it out.... 😀

Thank you so much for the help.  We tried everything....even did an exchange of the product thinking it was defective but the new one wouldn't work either.    Finally, my partner thought, hmmmm what about the router.... sure enough, he disabled the UPnP and the friggin thing worked.  Now I see what they mean by "Plug and Pray"!!    Tanks again!!

Hi OttawaPilot.  That is great news.   I bet this is the solution for a lot of people. Can I ask what kind of router you have?  Also, do you mean he "ENABLED" it instead of "Disabling it"?  I would think Enabling it would make it work.

Also,  please click the ACCEPT SOLUTION button so this will help more people as it flag the issue with more visibility.
