Doorbell camera not working

Cerryswakefield

Recently bought a Google doorbell, added it to the nest app and it worked perfectly but told me to transfer it to the home app, I did this and now the doorbell doesn't work, doesn't ring when pushed, doesn't record. It does show live video feed and makes a noise from the camera itself when pushed. It says it's offline in the home app,  and won't let me remove it from the app for either nest or home. There is just no option to remove it at all.  Any suggestions?

You might have to contact Support, since you can only "transfer" a 1st gen camera or doorbell to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, which seems to have glitches like this.  (It's been in "Public Preview" mode for over 2 years, and we've avoided it because of that, and because it still lacks many Nest app functions.)

Also, the 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell hasn't been sold for years, so maybe the firmware it came with was out-of-date, and didn't get updated before you transferred it.

To contact Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Select your device from the dropdown, click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Ah how frustrating! I will contact them. Thank you very much
