You should not have to do anything more than sign onto the Google Home app on your new phone using the exact same Google Account you were using to access the Google Home app on your old phone, and accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" (if you have more than one). That's all we've ever had to do when upgrading to a new iPhone, or when adding a new iPad.
