Doorbell chime on select devices

I have a lot of Google home speakers in my house. Does anyone know a way to turn off some of those speakers from playing the doorbell chime or announcements? I don't need the doorbell to ring in my children's rooms. However, I still want to be able to send broadcast messages to them such as dinner time.

This is for the Google nest doorbell with battery that I just installed. It's working great but no one in this house is going to miss the doorbell ringing that is for sure.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?
  • You can set the Chime so it only goes off on Speakers and Display.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Thanks for the respone, Brad.  I do have it set to only go off on Speakers and Display.  However, I have speakers and displays in EVERY room of my house.  I don't need it sounding off in the kids rooms.  That's all I'm asking for is a way to disable the chime from going on certain speakers/displays.  Right now it does ALL of them.  The only workaround support mentioned to me was to move those speakers that I don't want to chime to another home.  However, that will make doing things like broadcast messages to everyone not work also.

@Robert-R

I see. Thank you for explaining a bit more of your situation. I would agree with Support, as that would really be the only options besides just unplugging the ones in the rooms that you do not want to make sound. But that would definitely not be the best for your situation. I am sorry that I do not have another resolution. Please let me know if you still need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad
