Doorbell lagging or not capturing images

Minnesotazee

I installed a wired doorbell camera the other day. I get notifications that there is someone at the door, but there are no pictures or videos. When I look at the camera live, everything seems to be working, I can see my flag in the breeze. I have walked up to the door, and I get a notification, but no picture or video. Once in a while, there is a picture taken, but usually not until someone is leaving, so a shot of their back. Any suggestions on what the issue may be? I have a camera in my driveway that works just fine.

Hi Minnesotazee,  I'm an end user like you.  Just to be clear I see you have it 'wired'.  But did you purchase the new doorbell (Battery) that works only with the Google Home app?  The first thing that comes to mind is to ask you to check the battery level.  Here is the thinking:  The doorbell sits in sleep mode most of the time.   When it sees motion or someone hits the button it WAKES UP and starts to draw more power. If the battery is low it never succeeds at waking up.

You probably would do best to open a support ticket with the Google folks.  This is just a user forum and the google techs don't really respond here.  Here is the link:

Hi Penguis4lisa,   Your best bet is to open an official support ticket with Google.  This is just a user forum and the google people don't spend much time here.  Here is the link:
