How to make speaker announce when a package is seen by doorbell

I have a Google Home speaker (Nest wifi) and a Nest Doorbell Battery. It works fine with doorbell presses (the assistant announces "There's someone at the front door"). But for packages, I only get notifications on my phone. Is there a way to have the speaker also announce packages seen? Like "There's a package at the front door". Same for visitors/thieves who don't press the doorbell.

I've looked everywhere and can't find the answer. Notifications on my phone are too easy to miss and I worry about package theft so I like to grab them as soon as they're dropped off.

Hi Schmingle,  If you read thru this forum you will see that many people would also love to see that feature.  Right now the only way us end-users can send such a request to Google is to go into the app on your phone and select the FEEDBACK option and make your request.  The more people that do it the more likely it will happen.

On a side note, I'm coming from a Ring with external chime that always chirped when there was motion. May have to go back if there's no update with Google.

I wouldn't hold your breath for anything from Google anytime soon.  

You may want to check out the doorbell camera from Eufy.  www.eufy.com.   Their doorbell has (2) cameras in it.  one to see the person and another one pointed downward to see the package.  One of the things it does is alerts you if someone comes up and takes the package.  I have a few of their outside cameras and I really like how their software works and their customer service is fantastic.
