Drop Cam Replacement Offer

I received an email on April 7, 2023 and another email today informing me about my free Drop Cam replacement.  When I click on the link on either email, I get directed to the website to buy a Drop Cam and on the checkout page, I'm being charged $107.74.  I'm hesitant to press "confirm purchase" because a rebate wasn't applied.  There is an ability to add a promo code but there was no promo code on either email.

You could try contacting Support about whether you qualify for a replacement. I think that you had to have your Dropcam on an active Nest Aware subscription in April 2023 when they announced they were dropping support for Dropcams:

I’m having issue with my code not working for my 2 free upgrades. Can you assist?

Hi Jack....how did you get the promo code?  I've been trying for months and get nowhere for my 2 Procams.   Just someone in Asia reading from a script that didn't even know about 4/2024

From my previous posts: I used the instructions from MplsCustomer and contacted Google/Nest support.  I was surprised how easily I got a real person.  After going through two levels and multiple account verifications and holds their story is that it is too bad I don't have that email from April (if they ever sent me one) because that seems to be the only way to get the offer code.  They cant just re-send it.  They are escalating to Engineering (do we really need engineering to get me an offer code?) and will get back to me in the next day or two.  They did not sound optimistic.  I have subscribed to nest aware for 10 years  and have 3 cameras so I should get two free new ones.  I will update everybody once they get back to me.

Afew days later:They came through and sent me a promo code today.. Just ordered my two free nest cams.  Thanks to everybody for the assistance!

Good luck with that.  I had the hardest time trying to get anyone to talk to about the same situation as you!  When I finally got someone on chat, after going through probably 10-15 internet "help" pages, the guy wanted 90 minutes access to my Nest cameras.  I said no way - that I will switch to another vendor and get a different brand of camera.  I have 4 Dropcam cameras that I am going to disassemble before tossing them into the local "e-waste" bin.  Luckily, my subscription ends in March, 1 month before the end, so I won't really lose much money on that year subscription.  I also have been a customer about 10 years and never received an email and was wondering if maybe they didn't want to send me the 2 free cameras?  Doesn't matter, going to go with Ring since I am already a customer.  Good luck to you, but don't hold your breath!

Lance I am having the same issue 

I have 2 accounts and do not have the emails containing the codes to receive the camera discount

Hi Lance, I'm just now catching up with the situation / change to the support for my NestCam Pro.  I can't find (didn't receive or deleted it) an email with the promotion code for getting the free replacement indoor camera.  Can you help me to navigate how to get this?

The same thing happened to me, and I also refused to allow the requested 90 minutes access to my cameras.  I have 3 active dropcams and 4 nest cameras, but was only sent 1 of the 2 promised nest camera replacements for my soon-to-be brick dropcams.  I was instructed to go through facebook messenger first, to get an email link to send to google support about getting my 2nd camera.    I submitted my issue through the google link, but no one ever replied after I asked them for some alternative to allowing them to invade my family's privacy by accessing my home cameras.  I am now searching for a different security camera setup to replace my 7 cameras from Google nest / dropcam

This is honestly such a ridiculous policy and they are going to loose a lot of business from customers they cannot make it right for. So disappointing!!

I agree - if they don’t make it right for us we will be switching to another brand for the other cameras needed.

Unfortunately, Google Nest does not publish a Support phone numbers. As I said in my Aug. 5, 2023 post, I don't know how or even whether you can get a replacement email. If you want to contact Support, you can use the link and instructions in the post below:

I have the email but I have 14 dropcams.  Even if I didn't try to get a swap, the site will only allow me to order 10 at a time.  Can you help me figure that one out?

I'm just another Google Nest customer. You would need to contact Support for getting past the 10-camera limit you're encountering.

I didn’t receive the offer and apparently because it was unplugged at the time they will not support me. I’m so upset with google. 😞

How do I get the offer?  It does not expire until May 7.

I clicked the redemption offer went through to the checkout but it’s not showing my discount it’s still showing after entering my credit card information which was already there that it wants me to pay $109

Can someone please post the  promo code? I never rec'd it in April and after hours communicating with customer service STILL no email with the code. I also have two cameras that work perfectly well and this is a disappointment and a wasteful inconvenience. 

I went through the same thing and now onto about 5 emails about this.  The latest email said I was approved and to click on the link to order "your new camera" (I thought I was supposed to get 2 free Nest cameras since I have 4 Dropcam cameras).  So I clicked on the link and there was a $99 charge to add it to my cart.  I replied back and said I did not want to buy a Nest camera - I thought I was to receive two free cameras.  Anyways, onto email 6, not sure how long this process takes.  It has been very frustrating.  The Dropcam customer service was excellent and I was able to get ahold of them by phone.  I have searched and searched for a phone number to call for this Nest issue and cannot find one and have been going in circles.  

When you are eagerly upgrading, keep in mind that Google will force you to use the Google Home app for cameras. Nest app WILL NOT WORK with new cameras. And needless to say, Google Home is a big step backwards.  No PC/browser capability.  Multiple steps to get to cameras on mobile.

Stick with your Dropcams until they die.

Dropcam also had great customer service.  Once the Dropcam cameras are no longer supported in March, I will probably close my account and continue with my Ring that I have recently started using indoors.  It has been quit a struggle trying to get my 2 free Nest cameras - I am on about email #8 or 9 back and forth.  Very draining.

Thanks for acknowledging how much work is needed on the Home app.

The web experience is promising. Will you be able to scroll back in time? It does not appear to have this capability yet.

I just filled out the form again.  It's the same form I already filled out.  I will also need the secret code to enter so that it doesn't try to charge me $200 for 2 free cameras - can you please provide that again as well so that I don't have to repeat all of these steps?  I have about 20 emails now back and forth trying to get these 2 free cameras.   thank you.
