I have an old Dropcam Pro (haven’t migrated my Nest account to Google and won’t be doing so as I don’t agree with all of Google requirements on my privacy)
This camera has always worked well, but lately it is sending me motion alerts for motion detected outside of my defined motion zones.
I have checked my settings and the zone windows I have set up, all looks correct.
But when a car drives by my apartment in daytime, and light reflection from its windshield comes through my partially open blinds (and “dances” on a wall just momentarily as the car moves on) I am sent a motion alert for this even though the entire event is completely outside of my set motion area.
Why do these alerts happen when the motion detected is completely outside of my zone window? I have set my alerts for only “people” and then for only “motion”, but the problem still remains the same.
I am getting multiple alerts per day because of this, and am sure that nothing from the momentary dancing light on the wall reaches to even anywhere near the edges of my defined motion zone, let alone within those borders.
Never had this problem before, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

We have a 1st gen Nest Cam Indoor in our garage, and we sometimes get "motion" alerts due solely to changes in how the sun shines in through the window.
