I wanted the doorbell so that I could see who was at the door and be notified who it was, and interact with them if I'm out. However, I live in a terrace house directly on the road, so if I have it set to see people the battery lasts 3 days. Since turning off the people notifications familiar faces doesn't seem to be working when the doorbell is pressed. It hasn't picked up on me or anyone else since. How do I set familiar faces on when doorbell is pressed without it recording everyone just walking past and draining the battery?

In order to enable familiar face detection, you have to have "People" notifications turned on:
I'm not sure there's a way for you to have familiar face detection enabled without draining the battery on your doorbell.
