Filter problem - Video randomly missing from Google Home Activity but they are there

I have been using Google Home with Nest Aware subscription and I have 3 x Google Nest cameras (2nd gen, battery + 2nd gen door bell), there has been no issue until yesterday (Jan 27, 2024 around 11am EST). Some of my videos didn't show up on my Google Home's ACTIVITY feed (android Samsung S20, I checked my wife's phone Samsung FlipZ4, same issue).  Interestingly, the videos were actually recorded and sent to the cloud successfully. When I went into Google Home > FILTER and select the checkboxes for the cameras, the videos then showed up properly!!!???  However, when I cleared the filter, some videos just didn't show up (I couldn't see the pattern). It never happened before Jan 27, 2024. What bugs me was, it happened randomly on some cameras. I tried to DELETE ALL video history, it worked for couple hours and then that weird problem came back. That is very strange.  One camera I have enabled the garage door detection, but this random missing issue happened to other cameras too (such as doorbell).  Any help is appreciated.

Hi riniboo,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far are they from your Wi-Fi router? Are there any recent changes with your Wi-Fi settings? For troubleshooting, you may try restarting your Nest devices and Wi-Fi router and monitor its behavior.

To learn more about reset and restart, you may visit our public article about “Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell”.

I am 100% for sure there is a bug, I have made a video:

Please take a look at the behavior.  I am not sure if it's because of the Garage notification feature (Public Preview) is causing the problem.  From I.T. perspective, this behavior can potentially be caused by the load balancer on Google gateway routing to different end point running different version of the code to support the new feature, that's why sometime works and sometime doesn't. I suspect some servers support the Public Preview code while the other don't.  Please investigate.

Hello riniboo,

I appreciate the update and for sharing your video clip about your concern. Try reinstalling your Google Home app, restart your Wi-Fi router and your phone to refresh their connection to the Nest server.

Best,

It was fixed right after your reply 2 weeks ago. Thank you.  I did not reinstall Google Home App and I did not restart WiFi router. Magically, everything has been working again, I tested on 2 phones (Samsung S20 and Samsung FlipZ4) with both WiFI and 5G/LTE, all good. I looks like something was fixed on your end,  am I correct?  I waited for 2 weeks to make sure it's stable  before replying. Anyways, thank you!
