Find MAC Address of Nest Cameras

PeterZ

Is there any way to find the MAC address of a Nest Indoor camera in the Google Home application?

In the old Nest application, I could view the technical information of a camera and it would give me the IP address and MAC address. In the Google Home app, I only see a serial number and a Device ID.

Has the IP address and MAC address information been removed in the Google Home app? If so, why? Because the cameras are wireless, I can't get the MAC address from a switch port like I could for a wired device.

Trying to find the same thing in the app, but it’s leading nowhere.  The app technical info even shows the wrong IP address.   Not sure why google makes something that should be so easy a pain in the arse

Thanks - I'm glad it's not just me 🙂

Seemed to work fine in the Nest app, but it is completely missing in the Google Home app.

I wonder if you can extract the MAC address somehow from the QR code?

I'm going to just turn off / on one camera at a time.    Once you know the IP address, you can issue the command  arp -a from a windows or unix command line to map the IP to MAC address....   Good Luck!

Thanks. I'll probably end up doing the same. Only problem is I have 25 plus cameras, and some of them have battery backup (Outdoor models). Going to be painful. Thanks for replying.

The only solution was to manually power off all 25 cameras and then power them up one at a time. Why don't you expose the MAC address in the Home application like you do in the Nest application?
