Flood light will not turn off

I just got the flood light camera and it worked great for a few days however with my car parked outside right or left of the lights the light will not turn off. Help.

I think I figured out my problem...

I was asking google to turn off all lights, but it tells me front yard light is on...

I was wondering when I have front yard light, then realized it is the floodlight.

I think the floodlight is controlled by both lights and camera in google home. And the latter can't overwrite the former.

So check your light setting in google home, make sure the floodlight is turned off.

Hi All,

turned the light off and it was running from battery. I removed it off my account and added it back again seemed to have done the trick. Has not happened since.

Hey, DIESELHOMEY.

Sorry for the late reply on this. Thanks for being patient while we got a reply out. I just wanted to check in real fast to see if you still needed help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If things still aren't working, what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Let me know where you're at with this and I'll be happy to help out as needed.

Thanks.

Hi @Jeff

Im having the same issue. The flood light has not turned off in 2 days. Day or night. I do have a car parked in the driveway although when I leave it still seems to be on.

I've spent time with different settings and have done hard on/off with the circuit breaker. I'm at a loss.

I have 2 other issues however I'll search to see if others are having issues.

Thanks

@jaleckson

I am sorry to hear that you are having these issues with your Floodlight settings. I am not sure if you have seen it yet, but we have an entire article on changing the settings for the Nest Cam with Floodlight (wired). I hope it helps, as I can see the light being on all the time as not the best. If you can get to it and restart it, then you should try.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Thanks for the reply Brad. I have similar issues as well. No matter what setting I use, the light does not turn off. I disconnect the power and reconnect, still it doesn't work.

Nice work! Didn't realize the light is controllable in Google Home lights. Still have other complaints but that checks one.

The camera and light are "grouped" but contolled individually as two separate devices.
