My nest floodlight camera battery charge showed 66% several days ago when the power was accidentally turned off at the breaker. Now it's only showing 67%. It's not recharging to at least 80%. It's wired correctly. Can it be manually recharged with a usb connection?

Hi @pgaffney,
Thanks for posting here in the community. I understand your concern. Help's here.
Typically, Nest Cameras take around 5 hours to fully charge. The cameras' battery charges to 100% the first time you charge it. To preserve battery life, Nest Cameras won't charge above 80% if they're plugged in continuously.
You can find more information in the next article: Battery charge time
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the reply, it's been charging for several days. This morning I turned off the power to see the battery charge level and it was only 67%. So it's not charging over 67%. It doesn't get to 80%. This floodlight camera is 2 years old and has only lost power to it once in that time. Is there a way to fix this issue and get the charge to 80%? I can't see any USB ports.

Hi @pgaffney,
Thanks for the information. I'm happy to help you with your Nest camera charging issue.
I understand your concern. Nest cameras are designed to work under extreme temperatures, but the device charging may be paused to prevent battery damage. To ensure optimal charging, Nest cameras are designed to work within a specific temperature range: -4°F to 104°F (-20°C to 40°C). Can you confirm if your camera is currently in this range?
I also recommend cleaning the camera, as dust and dirt buildup on the charging connectors can prevent charging. Use a clean, dry cotton swab to gently remove any dirt from the connector pins and sockets of both the camera and the floodlight.
After that, I suggest performing a restart. You can refer to the next article: Restart or factory reset the Nest camera.
Let me know how it goes,
Best regards,
Jenniffer

I also have cleaned the connectors and the camera is under the carport no rain, no direct sunlight, temperature it operates under is within the operating guidelines of -4 to 104F.

Hi again Jennifer, have you had a chance to review my latest response 5 days ago after cleaning, restarting, factory reset, and confirmation the operating temperature is within the guidelines? What next?
