Garbage battery cameras that are always faulty

Anonymous
Not applicable

So after 18 months of owning 8 Google nest battery cameras i can confidently report these battery cameras are the biggest load of garbage I've ever had the displeasure to buy from a department store. The plethora of faults and ongoing issues are never ending. Thanks for nothing Google. Google should not be allowed to sell these pathetic cameras on the open marketplace. I'd go as far as to say you can shove these garbage cameras right up your Internet connection google as far as they will go

Our Google Nest battery camera, owned for 23 months now, works reasonably well. Ours is plugged in with the optional power cable and is online and "Live" at all times, including in Minnesota, USA winters with temperatures down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit.

However, note the following caveats:

1) If we unplug it, so it is running on battery power, it does not wake up from "Idle" mode to detect and record anything if we walk right up to the camera.

2) The camera works only in the Google Home app, and is therefore lacking many of the features of our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells that work in the Google Nest app.

3) Night vision is not very good, and it performs poorly at detecting events at night.

Wow years later and still doesn’t have the features of the older nest app. Sucks to know. Especially since we have yet to migrate over.

Hi everyone,

@Anonymous and @NestMan1, we appreciate your thoughts and ideas. We understand that some of the features of the Nest app are not available in the Google Home app. We would like to know what happened to your Nest Cameras? You can share it with us so that we can check our options here to help you.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.
