Google Gen2 Wired Cam will not factory reset

Brand new wired gen 2 indoor cam will not set up. Process started and an update stopped before finishing. Tried factory reset. Removed from home. No blue light, no chimes. Just get alternation between yellow and white lights. Swapped usb adapter with another cam that is working. Mutiple attempts at factory reset, restarting, removing power for extended period and nothing works. Never get the blue light or chimes. Tried setting up with set up code instead of using QR code. Ready to return all Google cameras.

As you reset it, what happens? This is what should happen when you're holding the reset pin on the back:

  • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be solid yellow. When the camera begins resetting, you’ll hear a confirmation tone.

Only when you hear the tone should you release the button. It should then factory reset itself. It'll pulse white while it starts up, then should pulse blue when it's ready for setup.

I have read and followed all instructions to reset. I have held the button as the directions state and also tried  holding for well over 20 seconds. There is no chime, ever, and the light goes from white to yellow, never blue. I left it overnight and it was still yellow the next day.

Appreciate you trying those steps. I've asked a specialist to review this topic and advise on next steps. Just so you know, it may take a short while for them to do that.

Thank you. I bought a replacement and installed with no issue. The problem one is the third of three I was installing. The other two were fine. I will probably return this one since I’ve bought the replacement already.
