This post will be focused on my Nest Outdoor Cameras. I have 2 of them and a Nest doorbell. They worked pretty flawlessly under Nest app.
In google home, there's always a solid chance that scrubbing will be pointless. If I zoom to a spot and try to scrub through it just moves the position of the zoom or zooms out while scrubbing.
Also, my cameras came with a feature where I could set the frame. I could zoom to a specific part and the quality would improve in that particular area because the camera can actually capture better resolution than it stores. This worked really well under Nest. On google home, I see no way to do this.
This is like the 10th product I've had that Google Home just kneecaps features in. I can't wait for the class action lawsuit.

Hello, yes, and for those reasons and a few others I went back to the NEST app. It is really easy to tell the google home app to switch the camera back over to the NEST app.

How did you get back to using the nest app? I can't figure it out. After 3 hours of frustration with the Home app, I'm pulling my hair out .

In the Google Home android app, go to the camera, then "Settings" and there should be an option for "Transfer to the Nest app".
I could do this, and I probably will but I find this really really frustrating. I have spent so much money on Google Home. It seems insane that Google Home gets worse at integrating things over time and worse at just basic things over time. Gemini has been an absolute disaster for Google Home. I wish Google would get the things they already have working before adding things instead of adding new things that don't work that mess with things that actually WERE working.

I've done this many times. It doesn't seem to do anything to stop or even slow googles constant ruining of everything on their platform. I am about to have to pay for another year of Nest Aware Plus and my options are to use an app that works pretty well but hasn't been meaningfully updated in years or the terrible Google home integration. I have so many Google brand devices and have seriously commit to using this platform and it's done nothing but punish me and make me feel stupid for this choice.
