Google Nest Aware 1st Generation New Google Nest Doorbell Battery

Hello,

I have an original Nest doorbell, and recently the speaker stopped working.  I decided to purchase a new Google Nest battery doorbell.  Shortly after installing the doorbell, I noticed I could only add it to the Google Home app, and that it wouldn't work with my Nest App.  Also the new doorbell wouldn't work with my original nest aware account, and that I would have to purchase a new nest aware account that offered the same services, and pay twice as much.  This was unfortunate information, and I was forced to return the Google Nest doorbell, and go with a different brand.  I really miss the features of the Nest aware account.  Is there a way to upgrade to a Nest doorbell and still use my original nest aware account?

Thank you.

It is true, unfortunately, that the new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released this fall do NOT work with the Google Nest app, but only with the Google Home app. But you should NOT need a second Nest Aware subscription. We have one new Google Nest Camera Battery, and we are stuck having to use the Google Home app to manage it, but we were able to add it to our existing Nest Aware subscription along with our previous Google Nest cameras and doorbells.  (Note that we migrated from our original Nest account to a Google account quite awhile ago.)

Google's stance on the new cameras can be found here, along with customer reactions: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Message-from-our-GM-Updates-for-our-Nest-customers/ba-p/...

Hello, and thank you for the quick reply.  I also migrated to a Google account quit awhile too.  I have been informed from Google that it wouldn't work, and that I would have to cancel my original Nest Aware service, and sign up for their new Nest Aware.  I have the 1st gen Nest aware and pay $50 a year for the subscription.  I would like to know how to add a new Google Nest doorbell battery to the original Nest Aware account?

I'm just a customer, so I don't know. It seems you may have a first-generation Nest Aware subscription, which was good for only one camera or doorbell, and this Google Nest Help page (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9228198?hl=en) says "1st gen Nest Aware can’t be moved to a Nest Cam (battery) or a Nest Doorbell (battery)."
